Everyone has weaknesses .... Here are mine.... Sugar, dairy and meat. Yep the traditional American diet. Although I generally buy high quality, minimally processed food and I am kind of an ingredient snob. I still like my cookie dough.
Now Let me make something clear, I don't have any freaky mental blocks about dieting, fatty foods, weight etc. ( I think this is a serious problem in America, especially when Addy told me the other day that a girl in her class wouldn't eat something because it had too much "FAT" in it. What the...........? SIX YEARS OLD?!?!?)
Here are my beliefs about food.....
#1-God gave us more sweet taste buds on our tongue (than any other) for a reason...To enjoy a sweet treat!!!! (just not after every meal....dang).
#2- We should have serious JOY in food and eating. If you are going to eat something ENJOY it...don't be stressed about it. ie, don't say "I shouldn't be eating this", or "This will make me fat" etc. Because it WILL!!! If you love cookie dough.....eat it with passion!
#3- Digestion is key. All chronic diseases start in the bowel? If you cannot digest dairy or meat cut it out....or eat it sparingly?
#4- If it came from God's good earth...eat it. I know some people get freaked out about eating a whole avocado or snacking on some nuts, or the amount of sugar in honey?
So what's better............. some genetically modified poison like splenda? It's just a serious marketing ploy and the American public buys it, Hah the jokes on us. My favorite was the diet coke that was enhanced with vitamins and minerals (you have got to be kidding me)!!
#5- LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! I think so many people stress about food, health, exercising, physical appearance. LIFE IS TOO SHORT. Love yourself, and love your food!
So these last few months I have been making some serious delicious, glutenous treats and I need a break! So here is the plan......
I am going to do a cleansing diet for 21 days and I am challenging you to jump on the bandwagon with me. Here's the rules:
#1- No sugar, or artificial sweeteners...
#2- No Dairy
#3- No Meat
#4-No Yeast (No bread, rolls etc.)
#4-No white flour
#5-Only water to drink
So what the heck are we going to eat? Fruits, veggies, nuts, salsas, whole wheat tortillas, granola and more! I am really excited. I am going to share some recipes and ideas. and in exchange you are going to encourage me (RIGHT?). I am going to give updates every day!
I am not even going to step on a scale (but at the end of 21 days I am going to take my measurements and see if I lost any inches).
So there you go.
So I am just finishing up the second day! only 19 days to go......

Sorry, but you can count me out.
I figure the age difference between me and Wade is reason enough to not want to live into my nineties. Plus, no dairy for me equals no calcium.
